2013 Stanley Cup Review in Photos

Although the Wild was out of the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs pretty quickly, all us MN Wild fans still loved watching all the hockey because we are TRUE hockey fans. Monday we say some great hockey where the Blackhawks got two goals in a short period of time and won Game Six with a tight score of 3-2. I can only imagine how Patrick Kane tore up the town after the game.

We found these great pictures of the game from the Huffington Post:

The one thing I can think of when looking through the pictures I found here was beard, beard, beard, beard.

Great job, Blackhawks! Even though it just ended, we can't wait for hockey season to start back up.

Who will win the 2010 Stanley Cup? Vote here for the NHL Playoff Winners!

Without the Minnesota Wild to capture my attention and free time, I have devoted the last few weeks to following some other hockey teams, don't worry I'm not abandoning my Minnesota Wild Hockey Roots, I'm just looking to fill the time until the 2010-2011 Minnesota Wild Season. My latest obession has been predicting who will win the NHL Playoffs and take home the Stanley Cup. Without a season of obessive game notes and player profiles, however, I'm not sure I'm really qualified to make accuarte predictions.

So if you think you are, or you just like to make Stnaley Cup Predictions, check out the poll on my right sidebar -------> and take a vote as to who will walk away with all of the hockey marbles this season!?

Stanley Cup Final Game Tomorrow Night

It’s the 15th time in NHL Stanley Cup history that the Final Series is decided on game 7 and this series is definitely one for the history books. Have you been watching? Every game has been intense and is a reminder to me why I am such a hockey freak. I love this game!

The Detroit Red Wings are 11-1 on their home ice, during the playoffs, but the Pittsburgh Penguins are a team that is hungry for redemption after losing the Cup last year to the Wings in front of the Penguins fans. I am so excited for tomorrow nights game I can hardly wait. I bet the ticket brokers in Detroit are making a killing on this game – everyone wants to be there…including me, but I will settle for a ticket to watch the game from my couch! Man, I love this game!

NHL playoffs

Well hockey fans, it looks like the two best teams in the NHL are on a collision course to make it to the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins both lead their conference final playoff series 3 games to none. I guess I can't say this MN Wild Freak is surprised. I love the NHL and I love professional hockey, it’s fitting the two best teams meet up. I just wish I wasn't watching it in my living room and was watching it at the Xcel Energy Center instead.

Wes Walz Retires

Well, less than a week since I posted my concerns over taking Wes Walz back, Walz has announced his retirement. I guess I am not overly surprised. Most Wild fans speculated that he was on leave because he wanted to retire, but that the Wild were trying to convince him to stay, perhaps using a potential Stanley Cup award as bait.

Although the Minnesota Wild are good this year, I am not sure I see Stanley Cup potential on the bench and I am sure Wes Walz agrees so he just decided to end the speculation and questions and “officially” retire. Walz was a great hockey player and a member of the original Minnesota Wild roster, he will be missed by Minnesota Wild fans and players and the NHL as a whole.

Stanley Cup Championship On Horizon

I was just thinking about the NHL Playoffs and the fact that the Minnesota Wild only have to win 16 more games this year in order to raise the Stanley Cup for the State of Hockey. I am sure that Jacques Lemaire and the rest of the Minnesota Wild coaching staff have made it perfectly clear to Gaborik, Rolston, Burns and the rest of the boys that they need to play one game at a time and not worry about who their next opponent will be or get too far ahead of themselves. I unfortunately, am not a member of the Minnesota Wild so I can look ahead and start the countdown from 16 t0 1.

MINNESOT WILD SEND OUT PLAYOFF INVOICES

As a Minnesota Wild fan, I knew things were going well for my favorite NHL team when my buddy who is a Wild season ticket holder called me to tell me that he received his Stanley Cup Playoffs invoice. That was music to my ears because it means one thing, the Minnesota Wild are going to the playoffs. Teams generally only send out playoff invoices when they are very confident that their team will make the playoffs. Thus, the Minnesota Wild brass must think that the hockey season is going to extend past April 7Th at the Xcel Energy Center. If anyone has any hints on how I can talk my buddy into selling me a couple of seats, please let me know. GO WILD!!!
