MY Xcel Energy Center Experience

The game day experience at the Xcel Energy Center is as entertaining as there is in sports.  The Xcel Energy Center is home to the Minnesota Wild of the NHL.  The Xcel Energy Center Game Day Experience has one of the best game day experiences in the NHL.

When the Minnesota Wild play, the fans of Minnesota flock to the Xcel Energy Center.  The stadium buzzes when the team takes the ice.  Before the team takes the ice, a kid skates to center ice holding a Minnesota Wild flag and plants it in center ice.  Then the goal horn sounds and the team takes the ice.  The organ is played for every game at the Xcel Energy Center. I get chills when the lights dim and the Wild Theme song is played... "In the state, the state of hockeyyyy."

The atmosphere at the Xcel Energy Center is electric, there's no other way to explain it.  Everything with the arena is state of the art.  The team even introduced a new mascot, called "Nordy" a few seasons ago.  Nordy can be seen around the arena energizing the fanbase.  One time I even got a picture with him! Don't miss your chance at the Xcel Energy Center Game Day Experience and purchase your Minnesota Wild tickets today so you can have that great Xcel Energy Center experience as well!

Minnesota Wild Theme Song

Before every home game at the Xcel Energy Center, the Minnesota Wild Theme Song is sang throughout the building.  The lyrics are for the Minnesota Wild Theme Song are below:

We were raised
With the stick
And a pair of blades
On the ice we cut our teeth
We took our knocks
In the penalty box
Our mother was the referee

This sport was here
Before we came
It will be here when we're gone
The game's in our blood
And our blood's in the game
Lay us down under
A frozen pond

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey

A big blue line runs around our state
A line that can't be crossed
The day they try to take this game
Is the day the gloves come off

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey.

Be sure to sing the Minnesota Wild Theme Song at every Minnesota Wild game!

Meet Mike Rupp

Mike Rupp is an American professional ice hockey player currently playing for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League.

On July 1, 2011, Rupp signed a three-year contract worth $4.5 million with the New York Rangers. Rupp scored two goals in the 2012 Winter Classic to help the Rangers win 3-2. After Rupp scored his first goal, he saluted the crowd (just like Jaromir Jagr does when he scores a goal). This celebration led to a confrontation from Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell.

On February 4, 2013, Rupp was traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri.
