Minnesota Wild State of Hockey Anthem Lyrics

One of my favorite things at the Minnesota Wild games is singing along to the State of Hockey song – if you don’t know the song by heart, start memorizing now so you can sing a long with me and the crowd. I love to shout out “our mother was the referee” – if you knew my siblings, you would understand!

State of Hockey Lyrics

We were raised
With the stick
And a pair of blades
On the ice we cut our teeth
We took our knocks
In the penalty box
Our mother was the referee

This sport was here
Before we came
It will be here when we're gone
The game's in our blood
And our blood's in the game
Lay us down under
A frozen pond

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey

A big blue line runs around our state
A line that can't be crossed
The day they try to take this game
Is the day the gloves come off

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey

I miss the Xcel Energy Center

Here is a picture of my favorite beer guy at the Xcel Energy Center. I can't wait to get back to the Xcel and order a beer from my buddy. I am planning on going to at least one of the games during the Wilds upcoming three game home stand vs. the Nashville Predators, New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings. There are still good tickets left from local ticket brokers like Ticket King, you pay more, but when you live in the state of hockey either you stand in line for days before the single game on-sale or you buy from wild ticket brokers.

Wild beat Colorado, look ahead to Vancouver

The Minnesota Wild beat the Colorado Avalanche at the Xcel Energy Center on Sunday night 4-1. The win should give Minnesota some much needed momentum to get ready for the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday at the X. The Wild and the Canucks have some bad blood running between them and the game is going to be huge for Wild hockey fans.

Minnesota Wild dominate in NHL

It’s no secret that the Minnesota Wild are playing tremendous hockey right now. In fact the Wild are the only team in the NHL to remain undefeated in regulation play. The Wild should be leading the NHL standings with 15 points, but the Ottawa Senators are listed on top with 16 because they have one more game under their belt.

The Wild are on the road tonight against the Calgary Flames. Here is a Wild Flames Preview if you want. Be sure to check out my www.inthestateofhockey.com site for great Wild Articles – including:
