Let’s face it, if they posted approval ratings for NHL players, Marian Gaboriks would be at an all time low. Fans are sick of him, the press is sick of him, the coaches are sick of him. Need proof? Read my past blog entries where I state how disgusted I am with Marian Gaborik and his lack of toughness. OR just read the paper today – When asked about Marian Gaborik, head coach Jacques Lemaire:
“rolled his eyes….then he thought for a minute.
‘I guess if he feels like skating, he'll skate,’ he said. ‘If he wakes up and feels like skating will be a part of his day, it will be. If he doesn't, it won't.’”
Rolled his eyes? Wow – approval rating = zero. If he feels like skating, he’ll skate – sounds very Randy Mossish. The Minnesota Wild doesn’t need a diva, they need a hockey player who wants to play, wants to score, and wants to win.
Wild play in Colorado tonight – two points are needed – plain and simple.

A Wild Record We Aren’t Proud Of
After losing to the Mighty Ducks on Sunday in Anaheim, the Minnesota Wild set a franchise record for most consecutive regular season losses: 5.
Let’s hope the Wild can stop the skid down the slippery slope tonight at home against the Calgary Flames. Marian Gaborik should be back on the ice, but I wouldn’t count on him to be the silver bullet –we will need a total team effort to score goals and keep up the defense.
Gaborik has missed the past 27 games thanks to his groin problems. He missed 5 games last year and 34 the year before that. Fan support for this “star” is definitely waning and if he doesn’t come out and play big tonight, it might as well be over for him. I am guessing you might hear some boo’s in the Xcel Energy Center UNLESS Gabby can score a goal (or two) then all will be forgotten in the state of hockey – because we just to win, perhaps at all costs.

Gaborik - Where are you?
Is anyone else sick and tired of Gaborik being hurt? I am to the point where I can’t remember him as a player...he has been hurt for so long (I will post his mugshot just in case anyone else has forgotten, too!)
Has it reached a point where we as fans need to accept the fact that Gaborik is “soft?” I am starting to think that we do. I have never seen a guy turn a relatively minor injury into a cause for season ending concern. I concede that I am not a world class hockey player (but I did play in high school and college) but I surely wouldn’t allow a minor groin injury to prevent me from playing and earning the millions of dollars on my contract. All I have to say is...it is time for Mr. Gaborik to put on his “big girl panties,” lace up his skates, and do what he is paid big buck$ to do; PLAY HOCKEY...Gaborik, we look forward to your return.
