The Minnesota Wild rallied to send the game into overtime against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night. However, Drew Stafford of the Sabres quickly netted the overtime game winner, just 46 seconds into overtime. The Buffalo Sabres went up 2-0 after a Rob Niedermayer goal early in the 2nd period. However, Warren Peters scored his first goal of the season and Marek Zidlicky scored a powerplay goal to notch the game at 2-2 going into the 3rd period.
A scoreless 3rd period meant overtime at the Xcel Energy Center. Drew Stafford, a Wisconsin native who played at Shattuck-St. Mary's in Faribault, netted the game winner. He played collegiately at North Dakota. Next up: the Minnesota Wild host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, March 8th.
