Minnesota Wild Lose 2-1 in Shootout
The Minnesota Wild lost 2-1 in a shootout to the Carolina Hurricanes. The lone scorer was Andrew Brunette, in the first period on the power play. All 3 Wild shooters were stopped in the shootout with Mikko Koivu, Brent Burns, and Antti Meittinen. It wasn't a great start to the season and head coach Todd Richards is probably feeling the hot seat, as most of the media believes a poor start could result in his firing. The Wild will host the Edmonton Oilers on October 14th at the Xcel Energy Center.
