Captain Mikko Koivu Signs 7 Year Extension
Last week, Minnesota Wild Captain Mikko Koivu signed a 7 year $47 million deal to stay with the franchise. He will be under contract with the Wild until he is 35 years old and through the 2017-2018 season. His old contract was up and the Minnesota Wild would have been devastated if Mikko Koivu had left, after losing Brian Rolston and Marian Gaborik via free agency years before. Last season Mikko Koivu scored 71 points and he is consistently one of the best defensive forwards in the game. He is the Minnesota Wild's top center.

now go get koivu some scorers!
Do the Wild have any money left to get any scorers? Doubtful. Looking like a bleak Wild season.
